Rejected

Introduction

None of us wants to experience rejection. We don't want to see our efforts refused by those we've tried to help. When it happens we feel we've invested our efforts for nothing and yet we find ourselves still wanting to help.

Jesus experienced rejection as well. In this lesson we will look at the kinds of rejection he faced.

Rejected by his family

Rejected by his hometown / friends

Rejected by his people / the priests

If Jesus faced rejection who are we to think that we should not. But he never let the rejection get him down or slow him down. As we saw, he even went back to places that had rejected him before. Even when that rejection meant his execution he continued to love and forgive.

Jesus knew that he would be rejected and ultimately executed but he continued with his mission, to offer salvation. Even though must would reject the offer, at least they had heard it and had a chance. We must do the same that the offer of salvation will be presented to everyone.
