Contending For The Faith |
When Satan tested Jesus, Satan even went so far as to quote the Bible in an attempt to deceive Jesus. Why would we expect any less from the people of the world that we live in? It’s worse than that though. Many people who call themselves Christians are full of bad teachings and misused Bible verses. It falls on us to instruct these people, in love, about what the Bible really says.
In this lesson we will look at two bad teachings that came from Facebook, which is a really good place to get bad teachings. We will sharpen our skills for recalling what the Bible says to correct what others are saying. We will also learn much.
This first Facebook posting is one that I engaged in. I did so because I felt that many of the flaws in it could be easily described. Sometimes explaining the error requires long descriptions that are wasted on short Facebook attention spans.
In fact this posting, from a PhD in Theology is so full of errors that it is hard to find anything correct. The author is describing covenants that God has made. In the drawing his line to the top of the cross is to indicate that God has been building something great from the beginning. That can also be seen by looking from left to right in the first three rows. From 1st Adam to last Adam (Jesus), from Husband to Royal High Priest, from marriage through National Kingdom.

Some people responded to my comment, defenders of the author, but then a snake showed up.
Jr D Max If your
interpretation of scripture is correct, by whose authority do you abide by?
Stan Burton Who cares
what I say. I'm telling you what the Bible says. Feel free to read it for
yourself.
I assure you it would be easy to find another
theologian with similar credentials who disagrees with Scott. Don't rely on a
person's credentials. Only rely on the Bible.
Jr D Max Stan..your absolutely right...theres even 30,000 different denominations that all disagree about this or that...but who is right?
Jr D Max Nowhere in the bible does it say..this is the final authority. The Church was the authority to decide what books belong in the bible. Coincidentally Mr. Hahns genuine study of scriptures made him realize the covenant..the kinship with God.
John 6:51-58
"I Am (the living God), the living bread, who have come down from Heaven, and if a man will eat of this bread, he will live for eternity, and the bread that I shall give is my body that I give for the sake of the life of the world."
52 But the Jews were arguing with one another and saying, "How can this man give us his body to eat?"
53 And Yeshua said to them, "Timeless truth I speak to you: Unless you eat the body of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 But whoever eats of my body and drinks of my blood has eternal life, and I shall raise him in the last day. 55 For my body truly is food, and my blood truly is drink. 56 Whoever eats my body and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him. 57 Just as the living Father has sent me, and I am living because of the Father, whoever will eat me, he also will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread that came down from Heaven. It is not as your forefathers who ate manna and have died; whoever eats this bread shall live for eternity."
