Sin and Transgression

Transgression is stepping outside the law or outside the standard of conduct. Inside the church the standard we are concerned with is the one given by God in the Bible. The word "transgression" is essentially the same as the word "trespass" seen in many translations of the Lord's Prayer as Forgive us our trespasses.

Sin is similar to Transgression. It means to fall below the standard or miss the standard.
