Name
The Bible commonly uses the word "name" in a way that is seldom used outside the church anymore. The Bible uses it in a way that is similar to the way an old west gunslinger might be described as having made quite a name for himself. In describing the gunslinger, the word "name" is used like a reputation. So you might indicate the same thing by saying the gunslinger has done things that have given him a reputation.
The Bible's use of "name" is still a little different from this. Your name (reputation) can be tarnished by mistakes you've made or even by lies that have been told about you. As used by the Bible a name is the true description of the real person. God knows the real person inside.
Because maybe people, including Christians, don't understand that "name" is being used this way they misunderstand phrases from the Bible such as "pray in the name of Jesus". They think it means "pray using the name, Jesus" and they make sure to use "Jesus" when they pray.
To say "I pray this in your name" then means "I pray this according to your will".
So what would the name of Jesus be in this sense of the word "name"? It would be a combination of Savior, the Way, the Truth, the Life, Shepherd, Love, and much more.
